Help keep the show, and the world, tidy

IMMEDIATE will install all waste collection infrastructure. This year this will include nearly 600 bins for the collection of all waste streams, 12 large skips and 3 Refuse Collection Trucks.

Our teams will both collect and segregate the waste. We aim to collect:

1. Clean Cardboard from all Traders and Concessions
2. Clean Glass from the Bars
3. Food Waste from the Concessions
4. Timber Pallets
5. Plastic Bottles & Aluminium Cans from the Bars
6. Plastic Pipe / Plastic Trays post event
7. Drink Cups
8. General Waste

All waste will be removed from site and will be processed at a local MATERIALS RECYCLING FACILITY (MRF) where the waste will undergo mechanical, optical and manual sorting to recover all valuable recyclates.

The various recyclates will be baled for ease of transport and then they will enter the Recycling supply chain.

Food waste and compostable Cups will be recycled at an ANEROBIC DIGESTION facility. In the absence of air, the naturally occurring bugs will break the food down to produce a flammable gas. This will be used to run a generator to produce both “green electricity” and hot water. The solid and liquid residues are used as fertiliser.

All recovered PET or HDPE plastics are baled else granulated for recycling within their respective supply chains

All recovered Metals (Aluminium Cans / Steel Cans / Metal Scrap) will be recovered as segregated waste stream else at the MRF to be recycled.

Pallets and wood will be re-used else recycled to produce chip board.

The residual valueless waste will be used to replace Fossil Fuel at a Energy from Waste (EFW) Facility where the waste is burned to produce heat to raise steam which in turn is used to produce electricity.
